about me:
dan romeo-white, amft
(they/them)
I've come to this work as a therapist with the deeply held understanding that we are not contextless: our lived and inherited experiences flow throughout our bodies. For this reason, I enter the therapeutic relationship with a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens, which prioritizes your agency and identity. Rooted in narrative therapy, my approach includes somatic curiosity and a collaborative exploration of your unique system(s) of care. I am also trained in EMDR.
I am dedicated to lifelong learning, and to providing support for those who are directly impacted by systemic oppression in all its entangled forms. My work is affirming of all sexualities and genders, specializing in the experiences of those who are trans and/or gender expansive. I am committed to providing a space which is stigma-free and sex positive: supportive of expansive relationship structures, as well as sex-work, and kink.
While I hold a MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, my path has been serpentine, containing experience in the spheres of creative arts, somatic practices, community organizing, and the service industry. I completed my initial therapy training at Colors LGBTQ+ Youth Counseling Center and currently work as an associate therapist at Brave Trails with 2SLBTQIA+ youth and their caregivers.
I am honored to be working at Scribble Counseling Center and in private practice under the supervision of Jon Tatelman, LMFT.
